Toma Limestone Cave
Explore the underground in the summer! An art space created by the ancient earth
Designated as a natural monument, it is the only limestone cave in Hokkaido.
A mysterious underground space, created by nature over a period of about 150 million years, awaits you. Inside the cave, you can observe stalactites of various shapes in their natural state, including globally rare ones like macaroni-shaped stalactites and helictites. The 135-meter-long cave maintains an internal temperature of around 11°C throughout the year, making it a cool and comfortable place to explore in summer. Deep inside, there is also the "Dragon God Shrine," known as a spiritual power spot. You can experience the art of nature sculpted by eternity.
*Every year, the "Cave Night Tour" is held exclusively during the summer. (Advance reservation required)
