Roadside Station Touma
A rest stop overlooking the Daisetsuzan mountain range, where you can discover the "Densuke Suika," the king of watermelons
Situated along National Route 39 at the gateway to central Toma, this roadside station is a perfect place to take a break. The facility features a specialty shop called "Densuke-san's House," proudly named after Toma's famous pure black "Densuke Watermelon." During the summer, visitors flock here to purchase these seasonal watermelons and taste the highly popular watermelon soft-serve ice cream. The shop offers an extensive selection of souvenirs you won't find anywhere else. These include locally crafted food products and "Tatsunoizumi"—a premium limited-edition sake aged inside the Toma Limestone Cave.
