Lake Zhongbetsu
A mirror reflecting the magnificent nature
Located at the entrance to Daisetsuzan National Park, Lake Chubetsu is a man-made lake formed by the Chubetsu Dam. The biggest attraction of this lake is the majestic Mt. Asahidake reflected on the surface of the lake. Especially on calm days when there is no wind, the lake is as clear as a mirror, and the view is breathtaking, perfectly reflecting its appearance.
Around the lake, there is an observation space and a water plaza, and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the four seasons. The fresh greenery in spring, lake activities such as canoeing and SUP in summer, and autumn leaves show a different look every time you visit.
