Its Ice Hall — created over 40 years by preserving nature’s wonders in ice — is maintained at −20°C throughout the year. Step inside and you enter another world of ice art: walls hung with towering icicles and mysterious ice tunnels that create a breathtaking spectacle.

In the hall’s extreme‑cold zone (−41°C) you can experience Japan’s historical record low temperature (recorded in 1902), try the “shibare” demonstration where a wet towel freezes solid in seconds, observe glittering diamond dust, or let the kids enjoy the popular ice slide. The attraction is designed so both children and adults can safely and enjoyably experience severe cold and get a true sense of Hokkaido’s winter. Warm protective clothing is provided free of charge, so you can visit even in midsummer without special preparation. Enjoy this uniquely Hokkaido experience.
