Located on the border between Asahikawa City and Pippu Town, this gentle hill rises to 239 metres. The site is nationally renowned as one of Japan’s largest colonies of katakuri (Erythronium japonicum), which carpet the slopes with delicate blooms each spring. During the flowering season (typically late April to early May), pale purple “spring fairy” flowers spread like a carpet, creating an enchanting scene that attracts many visitors and photographers.

Near the summit there is an observation deck, and well‑maintained trails wind through rich deciduous woodland, offering pleasant opportunities for hiking and forest bathing.
