Asahiyama Park

Asahiyama Park is a hill park rich in nature that spreads out on the southern slope of Asahiyama, which is about 10 km east of the center of Asahikawa and is located at the northwestern end of the Kitoushi Mountains at an altitude of 295 meters. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom along the garden path, and you can enjoy the colors of the four seasons, such as fresh greenery in early summer, autumn leaves in autumn, and snowy scenery in winter. In spring, the “Asahiyama Park Night Cherry Blossom Festival” is held, where you can admire the fantastic cherry blossoms floating in the night sky. From the observation area on the hill, you can overlook the cityscape of Asahikawa and the Ishikari Plain. After sunset, it is also a popular night view spot where the lights of the city spread.

The park is equipped with rest facilities such as a lawn square, benches, and gazebo, making it ideal for leisurely walks, picnics, and jogging. It is also attractive that it is easy to stop by as a set with zoo sightseeing. Depending on the season and road conditions, slopes and promenades may become slippery, so please wear comfortable shoes.
