Running for about three months in Asahikawa’s downtown area, this long‑running illumination transforms the city into a sparkling winter spectacle. Under the crisp, cold air of deep winter, lights glisten on snow‑covered streets — a scene that feels quintessentially Asahikawa. From the monument illumination in front of JR Asahikawa Station and the original pedestrian‑only shopping promenade (Hokoten), to the tunnel of lights along the 7‑jo ryokudo (greenway) and the tower evoking pioneer spirit, artistic light installations decorate the streets.
