"Sakuraoka Retreat Auberge Sondre" is a private cabin designed to enjoy a stay centered on the culinary delights of Hokkaido. With the theme of "small richness," the two cabins utilize thinned wood harvested from the forest of our sister facility "Lodge Norheim," creating a warm space reminiscent of a skilled lumberjack’s mountain hut. While surrounded by rural nature overlooking the Daisetsuzan Mountains, we also offer excellent access, just 15 minutes from Asahikawa Airport and the city center. For dinner, we practice the philosophy of "Farm to Table" by using seasonal blessings from local and Hokkaido producers. With a French course menu that reflects the changing seasons, you can savor the richness of the land and the joy of our culinary creations. The beginning of your stay starts with a story of nurturing the forest. We thin Japanese larch trees that have reached their harvest time, using the wood without waste for cabin building materials, firewood, and daily necessities. In addition, "Sondre" is a cabin where you can stay with your dog. The name comes from "Sondre," a Labrador Retriever who was loved by many guests. Inheriting those warm memories, we aimed to create a space where humans and dogs can comfortably spend time together.
