Susanta Kitchen

In front of Asahiyama Zoo, along Route 295, “Susanta Kitchen” is surrounded by trees and rice fields. This Sri Lankan curry specialty restaurant is run by the owner from Sri Lanka, Abeedilla Susanta, and his wife from Osaka, and is loved by the local people and brings smiles to the faces of many curry lovers.

Named after the warm desire to “deliver the taste of the curry made by my mother to my customers,” the restaurant uses high-quality domestic thick-shaved bonito flakes, and uses most of Hokkaido-grown ingredients, from rice to meat and vegetables. We recommend “Susanta’s omakase lunch”. This one-plate lunch includes two recommended curries, a la carte dishes, salad, papadan (rice crackers made with mung bean flour), and rice. Spicy chicken curry and mild daikon curry with a hint of coconut milk, and different flavors, aromas, textures, colors, and the fun of mixing them to your liking. You can experience a one-of-a-kind curry that you can taste with all five senses.

The store is located on the first floor of a private house, and the homely atmosphere where two cats welcome you is also attractive. When sightseeing at Asahiyama Zoo, this is a store you definitely want to stop by.
