Arashiyama Observatory
Overlooking the Ishikari River and the cityscape of Asahikawa, a highland observation spot with spectacular views of the four seasons
About 20 minutes by car from the city center. The Arashiyama Observatory, located on the hill of Arashiyama Forest Park, is a viewpoint where you can see the meandering Ishikari River below, the city of Asahikawa, and the Daisetsuzan mountain range that stretches beyond.
The promenade from the parking lot to the observation deck is a well-maintained promenade that can be accessed as if it were a light hike.
The panorama of fresh greenery in spring, deep greenery in summer, autumn leaves, and snowy scenery in winter is perfect for photography and strolling.
In the evening, the streetlights begin to light up, creating a dramatic scene where the river surface and the city are bathed in soft light.
There is also a promenade in the surrounding area where you can enjoy forest bathing, and it is recommended to take a leisurely walk while listening to the chirping of wild birds.
Depending on the season and road conditions, your feet may be slippery, so please wear comfortable shoes.
