Stretching straight north from Asahikawa Station, Heiwa-dori Shopping Park is a beautiful, tree-lined avenue. Recognized as Japan's first pedestrian-only street, it features an array of large retail stores, trendy specialty shops, and restaurants on both sides. Benches situated along the way provide the perfect spots to rest and relax while enjoying your shopping. Visitors are also entertained by fountains and bronze sculptures scattered throughout the area, notably "Young Woman" by Churyo Sato.
