Asahikawa Riding Club
Try horseback riding in the city — meet the horses at Hanasaki Sports Park
Asahikawa Riding Club is a conveniently located horseback‑riding spot in Hanasaki Sports Park (Hanasaki‑cho 5‑chome), about a short ride from central Asahikawa. Rather than offering extensive trail rides, the club runs sessions in a dedicated park arena, making it easy to drop by after shopping or club activities. Two programs are available for first‑timers and small children: lead‑ridden pony rides and introductory riding lessons.
Lead‑ridden pony ride (about 5 minutes): A staff member leads the horse around the arena at a gentle pace, so even first‑time riders and young children can enjoy it safely. Children aged 2–5 may ride double with an adult.
Introductory riding lesson (about 15 minutes): One‑on‑one instruction covering the basics so riders can try walking and stopping the horse themselves; once comfortable, participants may try a short trot. This short program is ideal for experiencing the joy of riding in a safe, guided setting.
With its convenient urban location and attentive support, the club is perfect for taking your first step with horses. Wear clothing that’s easy to move in and come enjoy some relaxed time with these gentle animals.
