The Daisetsuzan Sounkyo Kurodake Ropeway & Lift takes you up to the 7th station of the 1,984-meter-high Mt. Kurodake. It is a spectacular spot where you can fully enjoy the magnificent nature of Daisetsuzan throughout the four seasons.

In spring, as the snow begins to melt, alpine plants like chinguruma start to emerge, creating a beautiful contrast between the lingering white snow and the sprouting fresh greenery. In summer, alpine flowers are in full bloom. On the trail from the 7th station to the summit, vast fields of flowers spread out, truly befitting the mountain's nickname, "The Playground of the Gods."

In autumn, the area is famous for having the earliest autumn foliage in Japan. The mountain slopes are painted in vibrant hues, with the vivid reds of rowan trees and the bright yellows of alpine maples. From the ropeway windows, you can look down upon a picturesque carpet of autumn colors. In winter, winter sports enthusiasts from all over the world visit in search of the finest powder snow. You can enjoy skiing and snowshoeing surrounded by the magical scenery of frost-covered trees and rime ice.

No matter which season you visit, breathtaking, one-of-a-kind scenery awaits you.
