The festival features powerful performances by the local taiko preservation society, solemn Ainu rituals including the traditional owl ceremony, and expressive Ainu folk dances performed to distinctive rhythms. Nightly fireworks light up the gorge throughout the festival period; the booming echoes off the canyon walls and the dazzling rings of light that thunder overhead create an unforgettable spectacle.
