Kagura Oka Park
Take a deep breath in the city. Four seasons of forests and walking paths, an oasis in Asahikawa
Kaguraoka Park is a forest park that spreads out on a hilly area about 3 km southeast of central Asahikawa. The natural forest of elm doro and oak, about 500 Ezoyamazakura trees, and the quiet scenery created by the Chubetsu River flowing on the north side are attractive. You can enjoy cherry blossom viewing in spring, camping and cooking excursions in summer, autumn leaves walking, and walking and skiing in winter. Many wild birds and small animals live in the park, and it is also a popular place for nature observation and lifelong learning. Maintenance began in the Taisho period, and it is now divided into three zones: “Urban Greening Botanical Garden”, “Natural Ecology Observation”, and “General Park”, and is a place of relaxation for citizens who can easily come into contact with nature.
