Tsuboya Sohonten Kibana no Mori

Located about 10 minutes by car from JR Asahikawa Station, "Kibana no Mori" is a concept shop with a strong local color under the theme of "Embracing the whole Asahikawa" by Tsuboya Sohonten. The buildings made of woods and chairs from Asahikawa Furniture reflect Asahikawa's long-standing tradition of furniture and craft making.

The factory of the famous confectionery "Kibana" is open to the public, and it is a place where you can spend time in a variety of ways, such as factory tours and making sweets in the Cook Lab. The garden of about 0.82 acres spreads out, and you can stroll around while enjoying the flowers of the four seasons.

Inside the store, you will find Tsuboya’s standard lineup alongside unique sweets co-developed with local residents and exclusive items available only at this location. From workshop-exclusive treats and freshly baked apple pie to the signature Mori-no-Kinu soft-serve ice cream, a rich variety of one-of-a-kind desserts awaits. At the adjoining CAFE Bunran, visitors can savor house-made cakes and coffee while enjoying views of the garden or relaxing with a book.

The space also houses a flower shop and a craft boutique offering fresh blooms and handcrafted Asahikawa goods. More than just a confectionary store, it is a special experiential destination where you can immerse yourself in the culture and nature of Asahikawa with all five senses.
