Okada Red Snow Garden

Located on 16-chome 5-jo-dori, not far from the center of Asahikawa, the “Former Okada Residence” is a valuable building designated as a registered tangible cultural property of the country. It was built in Showa 8 and was called “a building without estimates”, and it took two years to complete. Currently, the “Former Okada Residence 200 Years Foundation” operates the “Okada Red Snow Garden” where you can enjoy soba noodles and dishes with the concept of “dynamic preservation” to give new life to the building and preserve it for the future while utilizing it.

In addition to private rooms, which are ideal for entertaining and dinner, there are also table seats that can be easily used for lunch and counter seats overlooking the garden. From every seat, you can see the beautiful, well-maintained Japan garden that shows the expression of the four seasons, and a quiet time flows without the hustle and bustle of the city.

In this special space, you will be served a sophisticated soba meal that truly lives up to the name “soba and cuisine”. Of course, the soba noodles are carefully hand-made. The soba noodles, which are carefully prepared by craftsmen using buckwheat flour from Hokkaido grown in the clean water of the Daisetsuzan Mountains, which this region is proud of, are reputed to be fragrant and crisp.

The broth also has an elegant taste drawn from carefully selected ingredients, highlighting the delicate flavor of the soba.
