Asahikawa city
This city is the largest transportation hub in northern Hokkaido.
It is the center of tourism in the area, and home to Japan’s northernmost zoo.
Located in the center of Hokkaido, Asahikawa is Dohoku Area’s transport hub with four rivers running through, including Ishikari River which flows from the Daisetsuzan mountains.
